We’ve just finished Year 2 of Creative Tracks delivery. What a year it’s been!
Now we’re preparing to deliver Year 3, which of course includes our regular workshop trips to Cherbourg, Woorabinda and Hopevale, workshops with schools throughout Logan and our annual showcase events with each community.
We’re also looking at funding opportunities to bring talented young performers from each community to Brisbane for Stylin’Up next May and also finding ways to take them to events we’re producing in communities other than their own.
We’ve been super busy over the past 18 months, making songs, films, photos and other creative things with young people in our communities. We’ve also been delivering workshops in Mt Isa and on Palm Island, thanks to additional funding through Indigenous Coordination Centre. We produced our first major event through the program, ReVerse, held at Browns Plains High last November, and we worked with the Cherbourg Ration Shed to produce the first Reconciliation Fun Run in April this year, a huge success.
