“We feel that our youth of Hopevale have experienced a vast and wide range of modes of preserving cultural knowledge and expanding their performances at a level we feel we would have not achieved if not for Creative Tracks. We appreciate the services Creative Tracks has provided to our community and we hope they can continue to assist our youth development into the future.”

Hopevale Arts and Cultural Centre

Creative Tracks delivered 190 workshops, 34 artforms and 7 events, with over 3020 attendees. We employed 48 Indigenous artsworkers and partnered with 36 different agencies. Most importantly, significant social outcomes are emerging for our participants. Elders and young people are reconnecting, and reigniting strong, intergenerational relationships.

This in turn is increasing our young people’s confidence, where they are now seeking new cultural opportunities, further education and employment avenues. We have also seen a diversion from social issues through the role modelling provided by our artsworkers, improved artistic skills and greater community participation.

2016-17 saw Creative Tracks committed to extending its fee-for-service offering. We worked with a variety of organisations to deliver creative outcomes for young people and adults alike. Some of our fee-for-service work has included;

  • Leadership training
  • Presentations and creative workshops
  • Community cohesion programs
  • Event hosting and emceeing, and
  • Partnering with other agencies to deliver programs for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
